CHEEK LIFT AND MIDFACE REJUVENATION
When we glance at a person our eyes first gravitate to the middle of their face. By gazing at this area from the eyelids to the upper lips, our brains decipher whether a person looks old, tired, mad, sad or youthful. Here are some interesting facts about cheek and midface rejuvenation.
Several things contribute to middle face aging. “Gravitational descent” occurs early often times around the age of 35. In other words, the ligaments of the face that hold the facial structures to the underlying bone loosen and the fat and muscles of the face fall downward.
Loss of volume of the mid-face is also a factor and can worsen gravitational descent. So if the face loses volume, it can fall due to less of an infrastructure to hold it up.
Injectable Fillers
“Filling the face” is a less invasive way to camouflage the fallen cheeks. Any number of injectable fillers are available to camouflage the tear troughs, fill in the nasolabial folds, and slightly lift the cheeks. One of Dr. Z's favorite fillers to re-volumize the midface is RADIESSE®
While the procedure is advertised as a volume replacement, the lack of volume in the cheeks is often because gravitational descent has occurred, and the cheek volume has “gone South” or downward, and the fill is replacing that volume that has fallen.
Fillers can be quite effective for many patients, but their effect is temporary, lasting on average 12 to 15 months. They can be overdone, and a puffer fish look can result with subsequent “overfilling”. Dr. Z's patient's results are natural and long lasting. Satisfaction rates are high, and they can provide a result when surgery is not desired.
Dr. Z is an Expert Injector™ Trust The Best for your Mid Face Rejuvenation Treatment.
Only board-certified dermatologists, plastic surgeons, oculoplastic surgeons, or facial plastic surgeons can become Expert Injectors. A physician must demonstrate an extreme commitment to consumer education, have quality results and patient safety. Expert Injectors only purchase injectable products from the proper manufacturer and only administer products that have earned FDA approval for aesthetic use. Although over a million American doctors are qualified to administer injectables fewer than three percent of them qualify as Expert Injectors.
